CASSIE OLSEN

My passion for communications, marketing, art and design were nurtured during my years at the Northwest College of Art. There, I achieved a B.F.A. in Visual Communications, which laid down a strong foundation in visual communications, graphic design, illustration, fine art, and helped me master the Adobe Creative Suite. 

Upon graduation, I earned an opportunity to intern for Amazon.com as a VXD Graphic Designer. My goal was to learn, grow and really experience what it was like to be a working, professional graphic designer. Working at Amazon was one of the most valuable experiences for me as a young designer for many reasons; it gave me confidence, and it taught me to how to work and communicate successfully with clients. There, I created over 800 promotional graphics used on Amazon.com. I also worked with site merchandisers and vendors to create whatever graphics/images they needed. 

After Amazon, I worked for a company closer to my home, as their lead Graphic Designer and Photographer. I was responsible for the entire look and feel of the company.

Presently I am the Communications & Marketing Specialist for The Doctors Clinic, a multi-specialty, 80 physician and 7 site, doctors clinic. I am responsible for all outside and inside communications for the clinic including all marketing and branding for the organization. I also create and maintain positive relationships between the organization and media outlets, craft press releases and manage all communication platforms, including the organizations many websites and all social media outlets. As the Communications & Marketing Specialist I am also in charge of designing and implementing all promotional distribution materials and images for the clinic.

I love my career, I get to solve problems visually, create cohesive designs, and explore my creative side everyday. I am so grateful that I have been given the opportunity to pursue a career that I love! Thank you for viewing my portfolio and learning a little more about me.
